This last week I articulated a lesson I’ve been learning from being a new father and spending time with my son Issa.
Like the rest of us, some days he’s happy; some days he’s blue; some days he’s gassy; and some days he’s playful.
I’m learning that my job is not to make him happy every day. My job is to try to understand his mood.
Maybe the goal isn’t to be happy; but to be authentic to how we feel.
