When I was younger, I thought Freedom was about doing the things I wanted to do.
I realize now, that was a juvenile definition of Freedom — a young adult version, maybe.
Freedom is not about doing what I want to do.
Real Freedom is about not doing what I don’t want to do.
That requires not just self-awareness, but real strength of character too — to be confident, to say no, to be ok letting go.
Much harder to do — but at least I have more clarity now.
